PRWND (DEN)

prwnd denmark (1)

PRWND, an artist deeply influenced by his upbringing in Herlev, a suburban community in Copenhagen, and his stay in Sisimiut, Greenland, began his artistic journey at a young age with graffiti. This early interest led him to experiment with various traditional techniques and materials of painting.

Over time, he found himself captivated by street art, ultimately returning to his roots in this dynamic medium. His work often explores themes such as globalization, multiculturalism, and integration, with many of his paintings being politically motivated. This focus on political themes has taken him to numerous places and taught him invaluable lessons.

PRWND primarily works with paste-ups, trading and installing them in cities across Europe, South America, the USA, and Asia. In addition to paste-ups, he also creates murals and paintings. The name PRWND is short for Preowned, reflecting the idea that everything we possess is only ours temporarily. This concept was inspired by his time in Greenland, where traditional Inuit thinking embraces the notion that all things are shared and borrowed.

In the art world, PRWND believes we truly stand on the shoulders of giants, borrowing (or stealing) concepts and ideas from each other. In essence, everything has been Preowned.
