DJ Tom Saloonsky
In 1983, I began my involvement in Hip Hop culture through dancing in the breakdance group Jam on Crew, which consisted of Renato Đošić (Renmem), Šefko Osmanović, Robert Jugovac, Tihomir Miković, Lidija Asanović (Srebrna Krila), Domagoj Pavić, and Sergej Bulić. Alongside dancing, Ren and I also started with graffiti, which we painted illegally in Zagreb’s underground passages. We also began writing our own lyrics, which we initially rapped over drum machine beats. In 1984, I started my DJ career, performing in almost all of Zagreb’s clubs (Big Ben, Neboder, &Td, Studentski Centar, SKUC, Pauk, SB, Trešnja, and Kulušić (Zebra).
